Why should I book direct?

Because there is no booking service fee. Airbnb adds its own fee on top of the nightly rate; this is our own website, so you book with Heather directly and the price in your quote is the price you pay. From the first message to the last, you are talking to Heather herself.

Is this the same suite as on Airbnb?

Yes — the same suite, the same host and the same calendar, synced automatically through the day, so a date that is free here is free there. The reviews on this site are Heather’s real Airbnb reviews.

Is the information on the website up to date?

Yes. The calendar and the rates update automatically from the listing, so the availability and the price you see when you choose your dates are current.

What currency are the prices in?

How much do I pay, and when?

Your quote shows the full price before you book. 30% secures your dates, and the balance is due 30 days before arrival. If you book within 30 days of arrival, the full amount is due once your stay is confirmed. Heather sends the payment details with your confirmation: Interac e-Transfer, PayPal, ACH or bank transfer.

What fees and taxes are included?

A $100 CAD cleaning fee per stay and the 8% BC PST on accommodation. Both are shown line by line in your quote, so there is nothing to add later. Stays of 27 nights or more are exempt from PST.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel 30 days or more before the first night for a full refund. Between 15 and 29 days before, 50% of the booking amount is refundable. Within 15 days of arrival, or for a no-show, there is no refund. The full terms are in the rental agreement you read before you book, and we recommend travel insurance.

Is there a minimum stay?

It varies with the season. The calendar only lets you choose dates that meet the minimum — if you can select them, you can book them.

When should I book for summer?

Early. July and August and the long weekends are the busiest weeks on Okanagan Lake and book months ahead. June and September are warm, quieter and a lovely time to come.

How do I get to the suite?

Fly into Kelowna International Airport (YLW), about 45 minutes away by car, with flights from Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and beyond. Penticton (YYF) is about 40 minutes the other way. From Vancouver it is roughly a four-hour drive.

Where exactly is the suite?

In the heart of Peachland, British Columbia, on the west shore of Okanagan Lake, about a ten-minute walk from Beach Avenue and the waterfront. The exact address and directions come with your booking confirmation.

Do I need a car?

For exploring the valley, yes — the wineries, trails, ski hills and Kelowna are all a short drive away. In town, the waterfront, the beach and the restaurants on Beach Avenue are on foot.

Yes, free parking on site at the back of the property. Ask Heather before you arrive if you are bringing a boat trailer or a second vehicle.

Do I need winter tires?

From October 1 to April 30, winter tires are required on most BC highways, including the Okanagan Connector and the Coquihalla.

Check-in is from 4:00 pm and check-out is by 10:00 am (Pacific time). Early check-in or late check-out may be possible when the calendar allows — just ask.

How do I get in?

Park at the back of the property and you will find the suite’s private entrance through the sliding glass doors by the patio. Heather sends your arrival details before your stay.

How big is the suite, and how many does it sleep?

About 1,000 sq ft, with one bedroom and one bathroom. It sleeps up to four: a king bed and a bunk bed.

Yes. It is a self-contained walk-out suite with its own entrance, kitchen, bathroom and patio. A small hair salon also operates on the property during the day, so you may see the odd client coming and going.

Yes — Okanagan Lake is in front of the patio. The beach itself is about a ten-minute walk down to Beach Avenue.
